General Product Photography Questions
Can you press and iron garments before photographing?
Yes we have a steam press, plus iron and ironing board to ensure garments are free from creases before photography begins.
Whats the biggest item you can photograph?
Our goods lift is roughly a 6ft cube, however there is a flap in the ceiling allowing tall or long objects to be brought up to the studio.
How should my products be presented for shooting?
It depends on your budget. If you can provide them on a rail already pressed and with any tags removed, then your quote will be cheaper than if we need to perform those operations in studio before the shoot.
Can you create digital colour variants from the one product?
Yes we can digitally alter colours when required.
Is retouching included in the price?
Yes it is. An extra fee may apply if products arrive in poor or damaged condition for shooting.
Can you save as .png?
Yes we can provide in any file format required.
Can you provide a stylist?
Yes we can. We have worked with a number of different stylists, some specialise in fashion, others set design, others editorial.
Are clipping paths extra?
Yes we agree a price per image of between 2 and 5e depending on the complexity of the item being photographed.
Have you props for styling?
We have a certain amount available at our studio. Beyond that you may need the services of a stylist to procure the props you require.
Can you arrange couriers?
We do not generally get involved with logistics for insurance reasons.
What is the process involved?
Once the quote has been agreed, and the shoot date confirmed, then within 48 hours of the shoot ending, we will send you a pdf contact sheet showing the images taken on the day. Then you reply with your image selections and we then perform the retouching, before supplying you with the finished high resolution images within another 48 hours (depending on volume). Payment is due on completion of the work.
How much does it cost?
There are 3 elements to a quote, firstly a fee based on how many hours are required to setup and shoot the products, secondly a fee based on the post production requirements, thirdly a fee depending on the usage for the resulting images.
Can I attend the shoot?
Absolutely yes, we frequently shoot with our clients or their designated styist.
